12/52 – A portrait a week

watermarked - 12 of 52 2015

Moose and Little R: A together pic this week.  This was a nice morning out on Saturday, at “Daddy’s work”, otherwise known as the Australian War Memorial.  Like many other Australians around the country, we came out to watch our local Welcome Home parade for our Afghanistan veterans.  It was great to see so many people lining the streets in front of the War Memorial to show their appreciation for our servicemen and women.  We found a lovely elevated spot to set our picnic rug down, on a little hill overlooking the parade route.  We rugged ourselves up with blankets (yes, it is already that cold here in Canberra in the mornings!) and joined in the clapping and cheering, with Moose waving her little Australian flag.

  1. Gorgeous picture! I’m looking forward to cooler weather up here in Sydney (we had it for a bit but it’s warmed up again). Would love to hear any suggestions on best places to take kids in Canberra, think I might be down that way with my boys in June 🙂

    • Thank you Nicky. Oh it will be cold here when you come! Rug up, and some good places to visit would be the War Memorial, Questacon, Old Parliament House, Telstra Tower (some of these have admission fees, the Boundless playground, the Arboretum, and the Mt Ainslie lookout. Hope you enjoy your visit! (And that the weather isn’t too hideous)
